OOOH, I've Got A Secret...

I'm just not very good at keeping secrets. Tell me something in confidence and my lips are sealed. But if I've got a great surprise in store, then it's about all I can do to hold it in and not spill the beans.

But I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone who reads this blog and actually gets something useful from it. I had no idea that our financial dilemma would turn into something that would be helpful to anybody else. I was really just trying to survive. But I've heard back from so many of you and you've touched me with your stories and great ideas and encouragement and it's been pretty amazing. And because you've shared this site with others and contributed to the buzz about this blog, it's created a few opportunities that will end up benefiting you pretty soon.

And I think that's probably all I should say at this point.

Well...OK...I will tell you this.

In the next few months you'll want to pay close attention because there will be a few announcements that you won't want to miss. And they are not at all for my gain but for yours.

And maybe you should really play close attention on, say, January 26th.

And then you might want to pay attention sometime in the month of February.

And then keep spreading the word and telling your friends because then that might cause some more things to happen and you might want to pay even MORE attention in March and April.

And that's all I can say right now.

See, I'm not very good at this secret thing.

I'm totally interested to know what your family thought of the Baked Feta and Tomato Polenta. I made it tonight because I had all the ingredients and my husband loves feta. I told him that I thought it had too much feta and he said that was funny because he thought it had too many tomatoes.
My first time using polenta. I liked it!

Gayle said...

3 of us liked the polenta and 3 of us could have done without. My hubby scarfed nearly half of it done just by himself. I loved it. It was like an italian version of mac & cheese.

Ah! I'm such a SHE.... now I've got to remember to come back and look at the website in FIVE DAYS... I'd better go write the appt. on my calendar, and then hope I check my calendar in order to remember to come visit! :D LOL!!!!

Gayle, this is such an amazing website!! Thank you so much for all the time and effort you put into this! You have inspired me to not only challenge myself to see how much I can save on groceries, but also to plan my meals out a week at a time! Usually I will plan the days menu in the morning! My husband is active duty Navy so we have the blessing of being able to shop at the commissary! Not only do they offer name brand products at rock bottome prices (still have to comparison shop on some things though) but I get to use coupons as well!! I usually end up saving around $30-40 in coupons every trip!! Thanks for all you do! This site is a huge blessing!!

OOOH, I'm so excited! I'm terrible at keeping secrets, but you seem to be doing okay...
Paying attention won't be difficult, I'm here every day! Thanks so much for a great blog!

Hi Gayle, I don't know if you realize just how many people follow your blog. I read, but probably like many, have never commented till today. Just want you to know, it's one of the highlights of my day. Yup, let it go to your head girl, you deserve it.
I find it very interesting to see how other people make the budget work. While none of the stores that you shop at are available to me, I think anyone can take bits and pieces from what you have to say, and apply it to their own situation.
Thanks, Canadian Girl

Ohhh, I LOVE secrets! I 'm telling EVERYONE! Thanks again for your encouragement and help. With husband going back to school and 4 little cheeps to feed it has been really really tight. Your blog has helped me realize that we can make it through this challenge. It is a blessing to have what we do have and it is wonderful to know that we aren't alone in this. Thanks again!

oh, I can't wait. I have been telling all my friends about your blog since I stumbled across it (because of recipezaar) in December. You have absolutely changed the way I see things. I have been having so much fun making my own stuff. I love my laundry detergent and I do this little giggle everytime I put it in my washer. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Ok, I've been a lurker, and I don't think I've officially commented, but I came at Emily's suggestion when I was griping about how I couldn't leave Walmart without spending $180! Since I've started coming to your site, I've gotten so many ideas and such great inspiration! I'm just waiting for my store-bought detergent to be out before I make some of my own! Thank you for your diligence to your family and making your budget work. It's encouraging to all of us!

Okay, This was like the tickler story on our local news. You give enough information to keep the viewer glued until the story actually appears much later in the broadcast. My curiosity is spiked.

I totally LOVE your blog as well. You have truly inspired me & my family to shop on $60 a week for a family of 5. It's been hard, but you & your blog are so inspiring! So far this year (since 2009) started, we have been able to stick to our grocery budget. I think the key is to make a menu every week, and shop for what you need & get what is on sale. Looking forward to the BIG SURPRISE! :)

You are going to be bigtime like the pioneer woman? I think it is wonderful if you are but I don't read hers' anymore, she lost the common touch that we all love. I mean I am truly happy for her success, don't get me wrong but just to read about her day to day happenings like we all enjoy,,,that disappeared in all of the choices and tabs. So just stay real as you grow cause we love you.
(that's just my guess about what your secret is)
