Great article, Gayle! The ground beef idea reminded me of what I do - see it here:
http://www.leavingexcess.com/2008/11/cooking-and-freezing-ground-beef-make.html

In fact, I just did it again yesterday and I have to say that I got over 21 bags of ground beef to use out of just 10 pounds of raw beef that I started with. I HATE cooking it up, but I LOVE having it done - it gets me through 2-3 months of meals without having to ground the beef each time - SUCH a life saver, more healthy and saves money too (and adds in veggies).

Good article, great ideas.

I have just started using a balled up piece of aluminum foil instead of dryer sheets...does the same thing for the static cling. Works good for me and you can use the same ball over and over again (not sure how long since I haven't been doing it long).

I also do the ground beef thing..sometimes I add black beans to my ground beef mixture if it works with the recipe...for example it's great for tacos and some soups.

Thanks for posting your article. I've been experimenting with using less laundry and dish detergent since I read it last week and you're right, my clothes and dishes are still getting clean. It's one of those things that is so simple I wonder why I had never thought about it before.
