Menu Plan Monday

I'm looking forward to trying a few new things this week...homemade peanut butter, a cheap and simple recipe for homemade tomato juice, and sesame bread. We also have company for dinner on Tuesday and a potluck on Saturday. Check out the frugal plans I have for those days.

Breakfasts
Oatmeal with apples and brown sugar
Banana-Berry smoothies and toast with homemade peanut butter
Pancakes
Toast and fruit

Dinners
Spaghetti, green beans, and garlic toast
Ranch chicken thighs, scalloped potatoes, sliced fresh veggies and dip, chocolate torte with strawberries and cool whip (company for dinner)
Bean, veggie and pasta soup (pantry leftovers), peasant bread
Nacho Casserole with chips, sliced veggies and sour cream
Leftover Night

love the new look!

the upside down blueberry pancake looks quite tasty... we love blueberries, so we'll have to give that one a try.

the cranberry muffins sound delicious too -- do you use dried cranberries in them, or fresh?

You likee the new look? I can't tell you how much stress-chocolate was involved in it. Yikes! And I'm not done yet. HTML is migraine inducing.

We found fresh cranberries for a steal a few months ago and I stuck them in my freezer. I'm down to my last bag this week. SO sad.

Wow! HOmemade peanutbutter? Looks interesting. I would like to know how it turns out. Nice menu.

Is making your own peanut butter more cost effective than buying it? May we have a price comparison, please?

Great idea anonymous. And I really enjoyed that article. I'll do a little comparing and let you know the results of my peanut butter experiment.

I am interested in the experiment, too. I just started eating almond butter which I bought at whole foods. It is very good but it was expensive.

Gayle,
I'm a frequent reader but don't usually comment. Just wanted to say thanks for this blog (and your other one-which always has me giggling!). I enjoy the recipe links and your frugal tips. Thanks!!!!

You will have to tell us how your peanut butter turns out! I am so curious. We eat lots of peanut butter at our house!

The new blog format is nice, but I miss seeing your smile! I too would be interested in cost-comparisons for peanut butter and other homemades. Can you make both chunky and creamy?
