So....my second sons birthday is this week and what did he want? A dog. That brings our household dog total to two. We adopted an adorable little Cairn Terrier from the Humane Society and found the perfect Gourmet Dog Biscuit recipe to use for training purposes.
Gourmet Dog Biscuits
If you've got doggies in your house, this is a great way to give them a homemade healthy treat and it's a fun cooking project to let the kids help out with.

We'll be spending our weekend staining a new fence and prepping the house for a paint job. Hope you have a great weekend and we'll see you on Menu Plan Monday.

What an awesome recipe. I haven't thought about making homemade treats before.
Very cute pup!
Nice puppy!! I do daycare and the kids all love to look at puppy pictures!! I've never made homemade biscuits for puppies, I should make homemade treats for all my "puppies" here. Kid you not, they are all on all 4's barking right now!

Be sure to let them know Prairie Story sent you! :)
So cute! I know your little guy was thrilled.
FYI, Carins are known for extreme allergies and major skin conditions. Make sure your son gets a wire brush and brushes the pups hair daily. Carins do not shed, (goog and bad) their hair must still come out so new hair can grow. If your son doesn't brush it out, the dog will rip it out. Yes, ours is currently bald and it isn't pretty. LOL! We did not know any of this before getting her. We also found out that the previous owners had her on anti-anxioty meds as she is terrified of thunder storms. Crazy dog. Hope this info helps, so you have a great experience with your new pup, they do have great temperments.
