Homemade Christmas - Super Hero Fort Kit

Christmas shopping is upon us and I don't know about you, but I have a tight budget this year. So that requires me to get a little creative with the gift giving. A lot of times you mention the word "homemade" in conjunction with gifts and people cringe. But that doesn't have to be the case. I'm hoping to give you some ideas over the next few weeks for gifts that will not only be happily received but easy on the budget. So keep your eyes peeled for posts about unique and fun Christmas ideas.

The first one is for a Super Hero Fort Kit from Meg + Andy. It's an adorable bag filled with everything your little boy would need to have his own super hero fort. So head on over and check it out. With some creative shopping at the dollar store and local thrift stores I'm thinking this could be put together for $10 or less.

Check back for more Homemade Christmas ideas in the coming days.

I have 4 grand children and a day care with 8 other children who all expect a Christmas gift. That is a lot of kids to get Christmas for. Now, to be honest with you here I do spend a bit more and give my grand children something 'special' from grandpa and grandma for Christmas, but also they recieve pretty much what the day care children receive. I have found an idea that has worked for me for a long time. On the day after Halloween I go to Target and Walmart and look for the costumes that are clearanced. I often find cute ones for less than $3.00. I have princess, clown, super hero, and even animal costumes. I take them out of the package with the Halloween markings on it and box it up with something special to add to it, like a 'wig' from Dollar Tree to the clown, high heels from Dollar Tree....I keep the amount under $5.00....it is so funny to watch their face when get the dress up clothes.
It is always a hit with the children.

Another idea for a cute gift if you live where there is snow...is a kit to make a snow man. I have made that kit and add to it a few things for smores and hot chocolate.
