It's hard to believe that one year ago today I decided to chronicle my journey to feed my family as frugally as I knew how. In the early days it was a lot of mac & cheese and hot dogs but over the past 12 months I've learned to eliminate most of our processed foods and cook frugal meals from scratch. So if you are new here, make sure you check out the articles and archives in my sidebar. You'll see I'm just a woman like you trying to stay afloat in today's economy and feed my family healthy meals in the process.
And this week....
Breakfast
Oatmeal with sliced apples, cinnamon, and pecans
Poached eggs and toast
Chocolate chip muffins and bananas
Yogurt, Granola and fruit parfaits
Leftover Muffins
Dinner
Split Pea soup with rolls
Lentil Spaghetti with steamed broccoli and garlic bread
Sausage and Potatoes, cornbread (doubled, 8 kids for dinner tonight)
Stir fry with leftover turkey and vegetables with rice
Tuna sandwiches, pickles, fruit (busy night)
Brown Rice and Lentil casserole and corn
Leftovers

Happy Blogoversary!
Do you guys really do such elaborate breakfast that often? I am lucky if I can get my family together for a real breakfast twice a week. How do you do it?
It is so cool to know you get your kids to eat brown rice and lentils. GO MOM!
I haven't known you a year but I think what you are doing helps thousands of us make better choices for our families and in this economy, this is a good thing!
I just wanted to thank-you for sharing with us. I'm new to this but it is working. I'd like to get my bill lower. My normal bill was about 200 a week. The last shopping trip was 142 not to bad??
My goal 100. Keep up the great work.

New reader! Amazing menu, I love it! Your blog is very inspiring!
Your blog has given me some good ideas on grocery shopping and saving money on food. Your gingerbread pancakes and split pea soup look especially good, this week.
