New Tools For Easier Use

I've been noticing lately that it's hard to find stuff on this blog. Even I need to access certain recipes, my weekly menu plan and old posts. And there are so many great things buried among all the posts that I'm having a hard time finding it all. So for your convenience and mine, I've added a search feature to my blog. You can find it in the sidebar on the right. Also, if you want to keep up with the blog and be notified when a new post is up you can now subscribe by e-mail on the left sidebar. That is, if you don't already subscribe with a feedreader like Bloglines or Google reader.

Today I realized I was out of cleaners so I used the handy search tool to look them up. I made a new batch of laundry soap, filled a few spray bottles with homemade 409, and threw a batch of homemade rolls in the bread machine for a lunch of soup and rolls.

Looks like we are in for some snow around here this weekend so I'm sending the boys out to chop up the wood that's too big for the fireplace. We don't get much snow in the lowlands of the Pacific Northwest so when it does come, we get a little excited.

Check back tomorrow for another great recipe swap!

hi Gayle! I'm a "lurker" and very much enjoy your blog. I too am in the "pacific northwest". I'm in eastern washington just east of snoqualmie pass. We're expecting snow too, I'm a little nervous as we just moved here from Va Beach. This will be our first winter in the NW. wish us luck!!
Thank the lord I have a gas fireplace.

The good news is that white vinegar is a disinfectant. So this is great for cleaning food surfaces.

I love the search feature, it helps quite a bit! It must be nice to know that you're so full of good ideas and references that you have to search through them all ;-)

I'm in the Pacific Northwest as well. I live on one of the islands and as much as I would like snow, I'll believe it when I see it. However, that didn't stop me from starting a fire in the fireplace and cuddling up with a cup of cocoa and my laptop!
