Grocery Cart Challenge Recipe Swap

So if any of you have seen the news about the Pacific Northwest and all the flooding....I live smack dab in the middle of that mess. My house has fared well but friends around me haven't been so lucky. It's so weird how one house is fine and 2 miles away people are being evacuated while their homes are filled with water. So please keep the people in this area in your prayers.

This weeks recipe is one of our favorite fall meals called Tortellini Soup. We like it with fresh rolls. I normally leave out the spinach and used dried tortellini from the bulk bins. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

You can find the recipe HERE.

If you'd like to participate in this weeks recipe swap please link directly to your post on your own blog (not your home page) and then PLEASE include a link back here from your post.

Have fun getting ideas for next weeks menu.

I have family not far from where you live. Our thoughts and prayers are with those in the NW. You all have had a rough couple of years with flooding.

Hi Gayle .. on one of your Recipe Swap days, do you think you could sponsor a "kids meals" one. My kids eat whatever we fix, but I'd love to hear some new ideas for foods that kids would LOVE? Thanks!

The tortellini soup sounds very good. I'm going to have to try it soon! This is my first time participating and I'm hoping to get some good recipes and make some new friends.

I don't have a link to a specific recipe, but I do have a link to my weekly menu plan for this past week. A lot of the recipes actually came from here, but there are a couple of others one that we enjoy as well (and I posted the changes that I make to them). Can't wait to see everyone else's ideas!

Whether you are vegetarian or not... you will love this recipe for Burt Wolf's Black Bean Cakes. My 14 year old will confess to that! :-)

I'm so jealous of your bulk bin shopping. I don't have any stores like that here. :(
Stay dry!

This is my first time posting on the recipe swap (I've been a lurker for awhile!), but I think everyone will love the spaghetti sauce.

Thanks for all the frugal ideas!

I STILL don't know how you do it. I made my list of what we were going to eat for the week then went to our local (what's supposed to be discount) grocery and got only what was on the list. Actually, I didn't even get it all, left there without two or three things on my list. Just for one week and two and a half people (sometimes my almost two year old will eat) and for mostly dinners I still spent close to 50 bucks.

And oh how I wish I could get things in bulk like you do! I don't think I could ever find a 25lb bag of flour for that same price...ever!

Love your blog, it is my new favorite! Hope all your neighbors are ok. This rain and flooding is no fun. I am up by Elma, and it is a mess. Hope you like my quick recipe.

I'm including a roast recipe which I'm making right now. It's from the Reynold's cookbook.

I added the tortellini soup to my menu plan for the week! My hubby loves tortellini, so this should be a big hit! I bought the bulk tortellini at WinCo, :-D My post about it is here: http://uglygrayhouse.blogspot.com/

My first time joining in, but I've lurked for awhile.

Good luck with the flooding! I hope you stay safe. It is good to know you are also in a good position to help friends and neighbors.
