How many squares will you be planting? We're a family of 7 and I'm planning to plan 64 squares!! I think I must be crazy!!

We have three beds that are 4 x 8 feet. So lots of squares.

I'm trying sq. ft. gardening this year for the first time! Have you had much success with this method? I'm a little skeptical about really being able to grow several plants in each square. I'd love to read more about how your garden comes along this season!

Jeannette,

I highly recommend square foot gardening. You can get so much in a small amount of space and everything grows just fine. There are hardly any weeds and when the growing season is over I use the lasagna method to mulch. I like to lots of stuff but only if I can find a way to do it easy. If you want to succeed at gardening without alot of time, money, and fuss then square foot and lasagna gardening are the way to do it.
