Your 'buttery bread rolls' look scrumptious!! Any tips on how to make them without a bread machine??

You may have answered this question at another time, if so, sooorrry.

But, I'm just wondering where you go first. Since Grocery Outlet and S&S are so random with what they carry, I was curious to know if you shop there first to try and get your goods and then hit WinCo for all the stuff not at the two cheaper places.

We have a Grocery Outlet in the town where we go to church, so I'm thinking we may start stopping there on our way home from now on.

$70 is still really good. You're doing awesome.

Wow, good price on the mozzarella cheese!

Sarah,

I start with the store that is notoriously cheaper...then the next cheapest and then the last resort.

So S & S, then Grocery Outlet and then Win-co.

It's not your practices. The grocery prices went up about 22% in the last 2 weeks. I watch the prices and had sticker shock at my last trip. My daughter in law confirmed this for me after she went grocery shopping last night.
THE PRICES HAVE WENT UP!

It is true! Prices have gone up! Items that I have paid a certain price for cannot even be boughten at that price with a coupon.

Our main grocery store discounts their rotisserie chickens after a certain time by 50%; I buy up what I can, debone them, freeze the meat and the bones--canning the broth for future use.

Sandy, Good idea about buying the rotisserie chickens when they discount them for the night. :)

prices have went up almost 25% around here(daughter is mgr in grocery)I have noticed a very small amt of convenience foods in the groceries.you were making your own yogurt( still need to figure it making it is cheaper than buying it) .SOmething I did when I took soup to work.I would make a pot of cream of tomato( my own or a batch of store bought) and then freeze it in one cup servings to put in a microwave container when I needed to carry it..or heat it at home and put in thermos..you might try to buy your cheeses on different weeks since it cost you around $9 for the 3 cheeses even though they were good prices...but mostly..prices are going up.We eat in season for our area...it's the cheapest way right now.

Like everyone else has said, prices are creeping up. Milk has gone from $2.69 to $3.09 in the past 3 weeks. Told hubby & Sonny Boy they need to start laying off a little bit (1 gallon every day and half with them two) otherwise I would be forced to go to powdered milk (which I have a stockpile of).

I shop once a month and have noticed that grocery prices creep up ever so subtly each time, making it really difficult to know how much exactly to budget each time. I think that has a lot to do with it. For your family size, I think you are doing fabulous!
