So you get to the end of your lipstick (or concealer) tube. There's a little left in the bottom that doesn't quite twist out. After you've scooped it out and mixed it in a small jar with some Vaseline to make tinted lip gloss, what's left? These great little tubes. Here are some really creative ideas to get some more use out of those great little containers.
- Pill Containers. After you've washed it, these are a great size to store pills in. I use one during the summer to keep my allergy pills from spilling out all over in my purse.
- Make a Mini Sewing Kit. These are a great size to store a needle and thread, a few safety pins and a spare button or two.
- Bandaid Holder. A mom is always prepared, right? You can roll up and store several bandaids in one of these efficient little containers. Store it in your glove box or carry it with you in your purse.
- Stash your Cash. Roll a few emergency bills in there and store them in your glove box or some other place. No one will ever guess what's hidden in there.
- Travel Container. Keep your q-tips from losing their cotton ends and getting germy by storing them in your clean tube.

Those are great ideas! I've looked at my lipstick tubes before and wondered what I could do with them.
How about keeping matches in them for camping?
Reuse them to make more lipstick. There's a kit you can buy that shows you now to do it. http://www.lipstixremix.com/
I've seen people use them to store other things in like beads or mints. You could make a USB case out of it or a tiny pin cushion. Maybe you could glue an eraser into it to have a twist up eraser.
I bet this would be a treasure for any kid's craft box too!
I have never used a tube up all the way. I am now tempted to do it so I can have a nifty tube.
GREAT tips!
Great ideas, many or the same thing I use mint tins for, but this would be much smaller. Now if I can only use up a lipstick. Something by the way, I have never done and I'm 49 years old. But I bet I have several old ones that need to be throw out. Now I know to save the tube ;O) thanks again.
Wow, I never would have thought about how to reuse a lipstick tube! Fabulous idea!
I've done Back to MAC with the few MAC lipsticks I've bought and actually finished. Since I'm not buying MAC these days and there is no "Back to Revlon clearance find" I'll keep your ideas in mind. :)
What's the best way to clean out the lipstick tube?
sounds like a lot of work...
I usually use a q-tip to get the last bits out and mix it with vaseline for lipgloss. Then you can run it through the dishwasher in the silverware basket.
I'm trying to think of a way to make a Christmas Ornament out of the old tubes.
