Drink Alternatives

I can’t afford to have my kids drink milk at every meal. We’d go through a gallon a day if that were the case. So I’ve found some ways to provide other drinking options and keep costs low.

One of course is water. We sometimes add a lemon for some zing.

The other is iced tea. You can see a really cheap and yummy recipe HERE.

And another we often try is homemade lemonade. It’s really pretty simple and it’s a nice sweet treat.

1 cup of lemon juice
1 cup of sugar
7 cups of water

Stir well and chill

Cost $.76 for 2 quarts

Thank you for the recipe. I was just at the store with my daughter and she asked for the lemonade by the oj. I had to say no, it was $3. The entire container would have been gone by the end of the day. I will try that.
Also I remember you listed some bread recipes. A couple in our church gave us a bread machine, some yeast, and flour. I need a good and easy (think bread making for dummies) recipe:) I will have to search out your archives
