I was out on my walk the other morning and all I could think about was getting back and making a bowl of oatmeal. Seriously! The whole time I was supposed to be losing weight I was really planning on what I could eat.
And not just any oatmeal.
I concocted this whole recipe in my head and immediately came back and whipped it up.
It fulfilled every fantasty I had so I now I'm going to share it with you.
Nutty Cinnamon Apple Oatmeal
1/4 cup quick oats
1/2 cup water
1/2 apple peeled and diced into small pieces
1 Tablespoon of brown sugar
2 Tablespoons of milk
2 Tablespoons of chopped walnuts
dash of cinnamon
Mix the water and oats into a bowl and microwave for 1 minute.
Stir in the rest of the ingredients and eat it up.
Let's see what's cookin' in your house this week.

This sounds yummy. i'm nut a nut person, but a warm bowl of oatmeal on a cool morning sounds delightful. Thanks!
What a yummy Fall Breakfast! Hearty and delilcious!
The title alone makes my mouth water. I can't imagine why you would be thinking of such a yummy treat?! :) With the cooler weather, we've been eating more oatmeal in our house and oh, I love the cooler weather!
I was just going to post a nearly identical recipe since I had the same experience when I woke up in a cold house yesterday morning (craved a nice, warm breakfast). It IS good! I'm still going to post mine, but perhaps I'll link back to you. Great minds think alike!
But if you're walking at the right pace, you're body burns calories for hours and hours to come, so your yummy oatmeal is probably all burnt off by now :) LOL. I'm glad you thought up that recipe, it sounds perfect for a chilly morning!
The Oatmeal sounds really good. Oatmeal is one of my favorite things to eat. In the winter I usually have it for a snack at night. Thanks for sharing your creation!
You have to try these brownies! Fabulous!
I just made your oatmeal but used almonds slivers since I don't have any walnuts. So good. I will definately make it again when I'm rushed as I was this morning! I'm from Canada and unfortunately a lot of the store buying tips won't work for me here, we don't have the same kind of discount food stores here. However, I have gleaned so much info and ideas here that I am excited to say that I find myself constantly thinking of ways to save money when in the grocery store. This site rocks!
Hi Gayle,
I have been lurking on your blog for awhile now and decided I needed to post and thank you for this recipe. It was so yummy!
